Objects of mercy objects of wrath

It's around midday, and I am slouching in a seat on the back of a bus. Holding reign amongst a group of miscellaneous young men was someone who recently arrived from another state. What I did not get is why they wanted to emulate him? The young men's eyes were vacant. They listened to music that....does not say anything. Then an older man sat with them for a moment and then came the realization that though they had such an age gap between them, mentally he was just like them. I do not want to generalize and say all young men are like this but today on the bus that is what I came across.
1) they laughed at foolishness
2) they tried to come across as gangsters
3) they want to emulate someone of unproven character
Tonight as I am writing this I am reminded of Psalm 1 and Hosea
Psalm 1:1, 4-6 NASB
How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the path of sinners, Nor sit in the seat of scoffers!
The wicked are not so, But they are like chaff which the wind drives away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, Nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. For the LORD knows the way of the righteous, But the way of the wicked will perish.
Hosea 7:2-4 NASB
And they do not consider in their hearts That I remember all their wickedness. Now their deeds are all around them; They are before My face. With their wickedness they make the king glad, And the princes with their lies. They are all adulterers, Like an oven heated by the baker Who ceases to stir up the fire From the kneading of the dough until it is leavened.
The reality of what a man should be is clear.
1) wise
2) truthful
3) integrity
4) strong
5) knows God
The end result is different for such a man.
Psalm 1:2-3 NASB
But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season And its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers.
I just wish these young men would be given the Gospel. May God sent labourers to do so.

Remember the Gospel and Our Stewardship of the Gospel

Today was centered on the Gospel. From Sunday School, which focused upon how no matter how many the sins the promise of the Gospel means that if one turns away from sin, to the Lord all sin all magnitude of sins will be forgiven. Next communion and how Christ's body was broken for us, and His blood shed for washing us completely from the stain of sin. The hymns songs focused on Jesus Christ and the Word of God. Lastly the preaching focused on the stewardship believers have  of the Gospel, to share, proclaim, to meditate upon.
Sermon Text
1 Thessalonians 2:1-8 NASB
For you yourselves know, brethren, that our coming to you was not in vain,  but after we had already suffered and been mistreated in Philippi, as you know, we had the boldness in our God to speak to you the gospel of God amid much opposition. For our exhortation does not come from error or impurity or by way of deceit;  but just as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, so we speak, not as pleasing men, but God who examines our hearts. For we never came with flattering speech, as you know, nor with a pretext for greed-God is witness- nor did we seek glory from men, either from you or from others, even though as apostles of Christ we might have asserted our authority. But we proved to be gentle among you, as a nursing mother tenderly cares for her own children. Having so fond an affection for you, we were well-pleased to impart to you not only the gospel of God but also our own lives, because you had become very dear to us.
